Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog.That’s because as I mentioned before I left, I went on a tour in Chicago to go behind the scene of the three films based on the Divergent trilogy.

The three novels are science fiction adventure books written by Veronica Roth.With those three books entitled, Divergent published in 2011, Insurgent in 2013 and the last book, Allegiant in 2013 all set in a post- apocalyptic dystopian Chicago, they made 3 films that have the same titles and chronology as the books. They are Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate science fiction films produced by Lucy Fisher, Pouya Shebazian.

 

I absolutely love the three movies and have binge watched them a lot after they came out. I love them because they combine adventure and modern science fiction with romance. I love these kind of thrilling movies as they are not too scary but has action packed in them.

So last week I went on a 5 day tour of Chicago to visit the state and most of all to see the filming location of the three films.I was able to go on this trip thanks to a quiz about who knows the films best and out of millions of people who too the quiz all over the world, I was chosen in a draw (raffle) and with 100 other fans got flown over to Chicago for 5 days. On this tour I went to a theme park on the first day and got to ride crazy roller coasters. It was truly exhilarating and a fun time, I got to make friends and eat lots of candies, as well as play fair games like tossing or shooting down items to win prizes.

On the next day we went and ate at a famous diner in Chicago with amazing local foods and breakfast meals, like bacon,eggs, beans, toast and much more, my favourite dish was the waffles with the maple syrup.

The next day we went to the filming location of the films and go to see all the special effects they made to make the movies and we even were able to take a test to see what faction we belonged in just like in the movies.

The day before we had to leave was the best day of the entire trip. We were able to meet the actors and we took pictures with them in the costumes of the movies depending on what faction we were attributed to. I personally was Amity so I had to dress like an Amity.

I took pictures with Shaileen Woodley the main actress,Tris in the movies and my favourite male actor, Theo James who plays Four in the movies. I was crying out of excitement and nervous to meet my idols.

The last day we went to a Casino and played for a while then we had to go on the plane back to our homes/countries.

This was honestly the best trip of my life and it will forever be engraved in my memory and my heart, I got to meet my favourite actors and discover the state of Chicago.I think the best part of the tour was when I met the two main actors and got to have an actual conversation with them, they are incredible people and I am so lucky to have been able to do this. I didn’t like the plane rides as I do not like taking planes and I get quite sick being on one. Overall it was the best experience of my life and I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to do this with any film or series they are passionate about, to take a leap and do it will be the thing you will ever do and you will remember it for the rest of your life I can assure you. For fans keep having hope and you will see one day your idols,I promise you!
